Acquisition Focus

Businesses we believe make great long-term investments.

Our current areas of interest are set out below. They describe where we are looking today, not a fixed eligibility list, and the complete acquisition criteria are still being finalised.

Financial Publishing Businesses

U.S. businesses producing content, publications, or digital media focused on Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, equities markets, and financial advice or education.

This includes subscription newsletters, editorial sites, research publications, video and podcast libraries, courses, and membership communities. Our interest is in the publishing business itself — its audience, editorial operation, and recurring revenue. Business Capital Group does not produce financial advice, manage money, or sell investment research of its own.

Compliance-Based Services

Businesses helping their customers meet compliance-related requirements, with an initial geographic focus on the Chicago metropolitan area.

These are service businesses whose customers rely on them to stay in good standing with a regulator, licensing body, contractual requirement, or industry standard. Recurring engagements, documented processes, and a stable customer base matter more to us than any particular niche.

A necessary distinction

We are interested in acquiring financial publishers and businesses that produce financial-advice content. We do not provide those services ourselves.

A business we acquire may publish market commentary, research, or educational material. Business Capital Group does not give investment advice, manage client money, operate an exchange, lend, or broker the sale of businesses on behalf of sellers. When we speak with a publisher, the subject is the publishing business — its audience, editorial operation, and revenue — not the market views it publishes.

What we consider during an initial review

The seller survey gathers information about the business activity, location, operating history, financial overview, ownership, and your intended timing. That is what an initial review is based on.

Business activity

What the business does, who it serves, and how it earns revenue.

Location

Where the business operates, and whether it is online, physical, or a mix of both.

Operating history

How long the business has been running in its current form.

Financial overview

Approximate annual revenue, and profit or owner earnings where you are able to share them.

Ownership

Who owns the business and who is authorised to discuss a sale.

Intended timing

When you would like a transaction to happen, or whether you are still exploring.

Not certain where your business fits? Select “Other” in the seller survey and describe what your company does.

Selecting “Other” sends your submission to manual review. It is not an automatic rejection, and no submission is screened out by an automated rule.

We have not published minimum revenue or profitability requirements, valuation multiples, purchase-price limits, financing terms, or excluded categories, because those have not been set.
